May 2018 Events
Prayer brings unity and prayer brings power. Nothing of significance will take place without prayer. Join us on May 1, 2018 at 7:00 p.m., as we PRAY & SEEK God for His favor and His blessings upon the church and the nation. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 NLV – First of all, I ask you to PRAY much for all men and to give thanks for them. PRAY for kings and all others who are in power over us so we might live quiet God-like lives in peace.
National Day of Prayer
Thursday May 3, 2018 will be the 67th annual observance of the National Day of Prayer. This time of prayer will include people from churches in the New Bern area. It will take place at Union Point Park from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.. This year’s theme, “Unity”, is based on Ephesians 4:3 “Making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”
Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 13, 2018. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 says, “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.” I don’t know if there are any words that can better describe the person we call Mother. Remember to honor your mother on this special day. Happy Mother’s Day!

Memorial Day commemorates U.S. men & women who died while in military service. We are able to enjoy living here today in the land of freedom because of those who paid the price. Let us thank God for this freedom & for those who made it possible. Join us as we celebrate Memorial Day on May 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
